The actives need your help. The School continues to make it difficult for Penn Theta to meet its Occupancy Requirements. Most challenging is the refusal of Penn to allow sophomores to live in the House.
Although we continue to press upon our upper classmen Brothers their obligation to maintain required occupancy, it is difficult to compel them to live in the House after two years of University housing, in part, due to the high cost of University-required rent and the need to achieve double occupancy in at least 2 of 4 rooms rated for two occupants each, such rooms being a tough sale to upperclassman Brothers. The School has placed the House under “probation” for not meeting its prior occupancy minimums. To do so for the Fall 2024 semester, we have committed to 4 active and consenting Brothers to subsidize their rent for occupancy in two double rooms. The total subsidy is $3500 for the Fall term.
Therefore, I beseech you to contribute to the Chapter Education Funds (CEF) held by the SAE Foundation for Penn Theta’s benefit to raise funds for this subsidy and other Scholarship support to our active Brothers. Contributions to the CEF are tax deductible, and they are our urgent priority.

You have my sincerest appreciation as well as those of our Actives working to sustain SAE on campus. The last pledge class achieved 20 new members and our total active membership is now 75.
Your support is instrumental in preserving the legacy of our fraternity and empowering the next generation of leaders. Any contribution, no matter the size, will make a meaningful difference.
Thank you for your consideration and unwavering support of our fraternity. Together, we can ensure that the bonds of brotherhood endure, and our fraternity continues to be a beacon of hope and inspiration for future generations.
In the bonds,
Steven Sloan (Penn Theta ’77)
