Chapter Eternal: Tom Stoner ’56

We are saddened to share that we recently learned of the passing of Brother Thomas Stoner ’56 on October 19, 2023, at the age of 88.
Thomas H. “Tom” Stoner W56- Tom was the cofounder of a radio broadcasting company (Stoner Broadcasting) that would become the largest network of cell phone towers (American Towers). He also cofounded Nature Sacred; a nonprofit dedicated to connecting people with nature. At Penn, he was also a member of Mask & Wig and Sphinx Senior Society. One of his grandchildren, Kristin A. Kelly graduated Penn C09.
Our sincerest condolences go out to his family and friends at this time.

Tom was my roommate soph year when I came to Penn fro m Univ of Miami. He
Threw out the 3rd floor window my blue suede shoes and white bucks. And tried
Hard to make me semi “tweedy” A great friend. Last saw him in ‘96 at reuion
In addition to all his after-school accomplishments. Tom Stoner was a great fraternity brother, classmate and friend during my four years at Penn. We had some good times together at 3908. He will be missed. Phi Alpha, Tom.
