It is with great honor that we announce the newest fraternity alums! We reached out to our newest grads and asked them what they gained from Sigma Alpha Epsilon, why they joined, and where they are headed after graduation. Join us in welcoming them to the alumni brotherhood!
Aidan Padala will graduate Summa Cum Laude from the school of engineering with a major in Networked and Social Systems Engineering. After graduation he will join Morgan Stanley Institutional Equities Division as a trader. As a member of Penn Theta, he served as Eminent Archon, Social Chair, and Brotherhood chair. In his spare time, he enjoys playing squash and soccer, and will always remember living in the Chapter House during Covid-19.
Mark McCrary will graduate with a major in Philosophy, Politics, and Economics from the College of Arts and Sciences. McCrary will continue his education with a masters in finance. He served as a Social Chair for Penn Theta and captained the Penn Swim Team this past year.
Ahmed Alveed will graduate Summa Cum Laude from The Wharton School with a concentration in finance. After graduation he will work in venture capital as an analyst for Insight Partners in New York, having interned for Accel in San Francisco this past summer. As a member of Penn Theta, he served as the long-time social chair for the graduating class. Outside of Penn Theta he was an Investment Partner for the MBA Fund, a Penn-based Venture Capital fund run by Wharton MBAs and a few undergraduates.
Pranav Anand will graduate form the School of Arts and Sciences with a major in Economics and a minor in Statistics from The Wharton School. After graduation, Pranav will join Barclays as a full-time Investment Banking Analyst, having interned there this past summer. As a member of Penn Theta, he served as house manager. Outside of Penn Theta he was an active member of the Wharton Investment and Trading Group and the Wharton Undergraduate Finance Club.
Sam Betz will graduate from the School of Arts and Sciences with a major in Mathematical Economics. This past summer he worked as a Quantitative Analytics Analyst at PNC and will be working in Finance in New York City after graduation. As a member of Penn Theta, he served as Social Chairman. Outside of Penn Theta, he was a Counselor at Camp Kesem and was a member of the Cuban American Student Association.
James von Oiste (“JJ”) will graduate from the Annenberg School of Communications with a concentration in Data and Network Science. He currently works for a startup called Point Pickup, and will continue working with them after his graduation, though he is working part time on his own startup and intends on being an entrepreneur in the long term. As a member of Penn Theta, he served as a Social Chair and Brotherhood chair. Outside of the fraternity, he plays on the Roller Hockey team.
Phillip Tchourioukanov will graduate from the School of Arts and Sciences with a double major in Economics and Computer Science. As a member of Penn Theta, he has served as Diversity Chairman, Brotherhood Chairman, Eminent Recorder, and Risk Chair. Outside of school, he served as the I.F.C. President and a Bartender at Smokey Joes.
Avideep Pradhan will graduate from Wharton with dual concentrations in Finance and Marketing. As a member of Penn Theta, he served as our Risk Management chairman. After graduation he will work at the fintech startup Card Curator. In his free time, he enjoys lifting in Pottruck and has inspired many other Penn Theta brothers to improve their physical fitness.
Luke Beggy will graduate Summa Cum Laude from the Wharton School with dual concentrations in Finance and in Business Analytics. After graduating he will work for Barclays as an Investment Banking Analyst, though has entrepreneurial ambitions in the longer term, and hopes to start a company or help operate one as an investor. For Penn Theta, Beggy served as Philanthropy Chairman and Risk Manager. Outside of the fraternity he played for Penn Club Hockey, was a member of the Student Federal Credit Union as an Investments Analyst, the Penn Poker Club, was an instructor for the Special Needs Swim Lessons, and served as treasurer for the Penn M&A club.
Eli Nathan, though he joined as a member of the class of 2023, will graduate next year after he elected to work full time for a product designer at Thrive TRM. He is majoring in Design and Computer Science. As a member of Penn Theta, he has served as Eminent Recorder. Outside of school he has worked as a designer at Penn Labs and GoPuff and as a Teaching Assistant for CIS 1100. He also plays for Penn Club Squash.
Alex Fey will graduate from the School of Arts and Sciences with a major in Economics. After graduation he will return to Jefferies as an Investment Banking Analyst, where he worked last summer, and has aspirations to work in fintech over the long term. Outside of Penn Theta he’s worked as a Teaching Assistant for Negotiations, and is a member of the Wharton Investment and Trading Group, and competed for INTERCOL, Penn’s Travel Model U.N. Team.
Caleb Silverman will graduate from the School of Arts and Sciences with a major in Economic History and a Minor in Computer Science. After graduation he will work as an Analyst for Galaxy Digital, an Investment Banking and Venture Capital firm for Blockchain-based companies and technologies. At Penn he’s a member of Penn Blockchain, Penn Poker Club, and Penn Chess Club.
George Devries will graduate from the School of Arts and Sciences with a major in Philosophy, Politics, and Economics. After graduating he will work for Link Logistics, Blackstone’s Industrial Real Estate Platform, where he worked this past summer. Outside of Penn Theta, George rowed for the Men’s Heavyweight Rowing team.
Dylan White will graduate from the School of Arts and Sciences with a major in Philosophy, Politics, and Economics. Outside of Penn Theta he was a member of Men’s Heavyweight Rowing. This past summer he worked for Shea Properties in Aliso Vejo, California and will continue to work in the Real Estate industry upon graduation.
Tyler McGoldrick will graduate from the School of Engineering having majored in Bioengineering. He has worked at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania as an undergraduate and intends to go to Medical School after graduation. As a member of Penn Theta, he served as Treasurer, and outside of SAE played on the Men’s Club Hockey Team and as the Executive Vice President for the I.F.C.
Jake Nordell will graduate Magna Cum Laude from The Wharton School. Outside of Penn Theta he was a member of Men’s Heavyweight Rowing. This past summer Jake worked as an analyst at MUFG. He intends to work in finance full time.
William Locke will graduate Magna Cum Laude from the College of Arts and Sciences with a major in Philosophy, Politics, and Economics and minors in English and in Classics. After graduation he will become an analyst for the Bay Colony Property Development Company, a real estate development firm based out of Boston, Massachusetts. As a member of Penn Theta, he served as Alumni Chair and Eminent Deputy Archon. He also performed in The Mask and Wig Club, was a member of the Philomathean Society, served as President of the Inter-Fraternity Council, and barbacked at Smokey Joes. He will miss the meal plan and the chapter house most.
